The Victron VE.Bus BMS and VE.Bus BMS V2 systems are intelligent battery management systems designed specifically for use with Victron Smart Lithium batteries (LiFePO₄ / LFP) in 12.8 V and 25.6 V systems. They provide comprehensive protection for the batteries against over- and under-voltage of individual cells as well as over- and under-temperatures.

The BMS continuously analyzes the battery status and controls the connected charging and discharging sources depending on the situation. If an undervoltage threatens, a pre-alarm signal is emitted. In the event of critical cell values, the system automatically switches off chargers or inverters to protect the battery. Control is via VE.Bus and the integrated "Load Disconnect" and "Charge Disconnect" connections.

In addition, terminals and communication interfaces can be used to integrate other components such as VE.Direct or VE.Can solar charge controllers and deactivate them if necessary. The system also allows remote on/off switching and offers the option of controlling the VE.Bus device from multiple sources (e.g., Digital Multi Control, VE.Bus Smart Dongle, or GX device).
